Strategize at Dynasty Field

All the kids are in your back yard, playing baseball.  And your jaw drops, aghast.  You think about putting on your favorite team’s jersey, stomp out to the hill and yank your 9-year old for walking the neighbor’s snot-nosed kid.  C’mon!  You know you want to!

How do you like the game to be played?  Be aggressive on the base paths and take everything the defense gives you?  Or don’t dare risk running into an out because that will just take runs off the board when your next power hitter sends one deep into the night?  Give your pitchers all the latitude they need to work out of a jam, or call the bullpen at the first sign of trouble (like walking that neighbor’s snot-nosed kid)?

Dynasty Field allows you the freedom to manage your game through two aspects:  My Game Strategy and My Lineup Card, powered by the revolutionary trust factor system.

My Game Strategy asks you some questions that will affect how you as the manager responds to certain situations.  My Lineup Card asks you how your players respond in certain situations.

Some examples of My Game Strategy questions are:

• Do you want to include squeeze plays in your offensive arsenal?  Suicide?  Safety?  Both?  A squeeze play is risky, but it just might steal you that winning run.
• Do you wish to use your closer in the 9^th inning or later in a tie game?  Or would you rather hold back if it isn’t a save situation?
• How close of a lead do you have to have before you start changing defensive strategy to protect it through substitutions, no doubles defense, etc., and what strategy(ies) would you use?  Putting in defensive substitutions may protect that lead, but if they do tie it up, you may have taken a lot of offense out of your lineup for extra innings.  Playing “No Doubles” defense will cut down on that one damaging hit, but other balls that would have been caught with standard defense will now drop in for singles.

The lineup card is one of the core elements that makes Dynasty Field special.

When you play classic fantasy baseball, all you do is draft players at certain positions and accumulate numbers.  A steal is a steal.  An RBI is an RBI.  As a classic fantasy owner, do you care if a guy steals 10 bases but gets caught 10 times?  No, you got 10 steals.  As a real manager do you care?  Absolutely!  In classic fantasy, a guy with no power and no speed is pretty much useless.  But what if that guy gets on base 40% of the time?  Very useful at Dynasty Field!  Middle relievers are $1 (in auction leagues) or late-round guys that all you hope is for a guy who isn’t going to hurt your ERA and WHIP.  Bullpens are incredibly important at Dynasty Field.

A Classic Fantasy team is a pile of numbers.  A Dynasty Field team is a team!

Put those speedy, slap-hitting table setters at the top of the lineup.  Stack the heart of your batting order with power to drive those guys in.  Put together a solid bullpen to turn those leads into wins.  Do it all through the lineup card.

The top section of My Lineup card is your active roster.  Don’t worry, if you do not have enough innings or at-bats to get you through the week from those 25 guys, players will be called up as needed from your farm system, in your preferred order.  It includes your batting order, bench, starting rotation and bullpen.  Set one lineup, or set a lineup vs. right-handed and left-handed starters to take advantage of matchups.

The Player Strategy section, located at the bottom of the My Lineup Card tab, includes the list of every player on your roster, whether they are in your active roster or in the farm system, and trust factors for each player in certain categories.  Trust factors are the heart of managing the game at Dynasty Field.

For all of the Trust Factor settings, years of Major League Baseball situation data was compiled and stratified so that your strategy determines how your team and players react to in-game situations as if you were actually managing the game as it happens!  Over the next few weeks, we’ll detail how.
